Eight things about me.

I was tagged by Steve to list eight things about myself. So, here goes:

1. I always have the volume of the television set to a multiple of five. If it is on any other type of number, it drives me mildly insane. (If I do any type of workout, etc. it has to be done in multiples of five).

2. I have fibromyalgia in my upper back, neck and shoulders. I have had it since I was 16 and don't know how to get rid of it. My shoulders literally hurt on a constant basis. I've learned to deal with it.

3. I used to be a waitress at a 50's and 60's diner. I wore poodle skirts and cat-eye glasses and a red scarf around my neck (or in my hair) to work every day.

4. I hate trash cans and hold my breath when I pass one on the street. If I touch one, I have to immediately wash my hands or I feel like I am filthy.

5. I used to dye my hair funky colors. My hair has been orange, burgundy, blonde, white (for a very brief time) and numerous shades of red and brown.

6. I went to a very strange private school when I was younger. We worked at our own pace - and taught ourselves from small books. We had no instructor. If I hadn't left, I would have graduated high school at the age of 14.

7. I have a hairless cat named Kitsch. He is my child.

8. For those of you who do not know - my husband is also a poet.

I'll go ahead and tag Julie and Tony.

A strange countdown (up?)

I'm spending a lot of time thinking about this.

The house hunt has me feeling anxious.

-----

Is it bad that I haven't written a poem in a couple months?

-----

I've been tagged to list some oddities about myself. I am going to do that soon.

P.S.

I wish I were on the beach.

Things.

Today N's parents came over. We spent the day mowing, weeding, and cleaning the outside of the house. The landlord was very understanding about us having to move, so we are doing our part to make the place presentable so someone else will want to move in right away.

----

Webcourse is going well. I have good writers this semester. I'm glad for that.

----

I've been strangely sick the past few days. For some reason my stomach has hurt and hurt since Saturday night. It isn't nausea or sharp pain. But it steadily aches. At first, I thought it might be food poisoning. Now, I'm not so sure. And today, I have a headache. It won't go away - even after taking my beloved Excedrin.

----

We're looking for a three bedroom house in the Morgantown area to rent. If anyone knows of any, please let me know. I'm having trouble finding one.

Remember my little secret with the pretty little eyes...?

I got a J.O.B. at W.V.U. for next year. Nicholas and I got jobs teaching Comp in their English program. So --- we will be moving from our little river home next month and back to the fantastic city of Mo-gan-town!

----

In other job news... It looks as if I am going to be a poetry editor at Three Candles Journal. :)

----

I'm incredibly happy today.

If you're interested

I've uploaded some of the wedding pictures to my flickr album... If you are interested, the link is: My Flickr Page

And the rest are in my real photoalbum (hey, if everyone sees them all online, they won't want to look at the printed ones later).

I have a secret.

A little secret with little eyes that close when it lays on its back.

oh so sessy.

I could not wait until the wedding was over so I could cut off all my hair. I don't wear long hair well... so I was anxious to get rid of it. I don't have any make-up on in these pictures, I apologize in advance.

and from the back:

and from the side (just because I made Nick snap the picture).

I also got new sunglasses the other day. I'm so posh. :p

Just a taste...

I feel so much relief.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. It turned out better than I even imagined. Especially after all of the nightmares. When I saw everything come together - I was breathless. Allow me to give you a rundown of the trip and the wedding.

I've also included a few pictures that some of Nick's relatives took. We haven't received all of our pictures yet. I will post more pictures later (and a link to my flickr page).

-------

When we arrived in WV, we immediately began working on wedding stuff. We had to meet with the DJ and call people. We had table runners to finish. We had so much to do. Luckily we got everything finished. When we finally did get all of the reception decor finished, I couldn't believe how nice they looked. The tables were rectangular with white tablecloths. A chocolate brown runner with a ribbon border ran down the middle of the table. In the center was a circular mirror with a large vase with some river rocks and a blue candle.

Next to that, on each side, was a vase with a single hydrangea. And next to that was a votive. Also on the table were handmade bird's nests with blue jordan almonds that looked like bird's eggs. They were beautiful. The cake also looked beautiful with the decor. I think our baker did a great job.

----

Backtracking... the actual ceremony was nice. The bridesmaids were beautiful, and the groomsmen's brown tuxes were spectacular.

----

The event was not without its problems though. Here are just a few of the things that went wrong.

-The musicians hit sour notes constantly and played the wrong song when the bridesmaids began their processional. They did correct themselves though. But despite their mistakes, they still sounded okay.

-Right before I walked down the aisle my flowers stained the top of my dress. Luckily, it was very small and nobody could notice. Also, my mother in law thankfully had a tide pen with her... crisis not so bad.

-The bridesmaid's bouquets didn't turn out the way they were supposed to... but they still looked okay and nobody was the wiser.

-My veil caught on fire. Yes. I backed up to make room for the garter toss at the reception and my veil was over a candle. Fortunately, it smoldered a hole into the material rather than burst into flame... with all that hairspray, it could have been disasterous. Nobody saw it happen. The only reason anyone knew is because I told them.

----

Despite the tiny errors... everything was perfect. I had so much fun. We danced all night - and that's saying something because I don't like to dance. My maid of honor's speech was fantastic as well. We made a pact when we were little that the first one to get married would give a goodbye speech to their hollywood crush. I had forgotten about that... but luckily (for her and everyone watching) she had not. She brought a picture of Nicolas Cage - and I had to say goodbye. *sniff*

But I am happy to say goodbye to Nicolas Cage, if it means I get to spend the rest of my life this happy.

What God has joined together

Well, we are back in town. And I am now officially married. We haven't decided if we are taking a honeymoon right away or waiting several months... but we should have that figured out soon.

I'm sorry this message is short, but there are thousands of things to do for my web-students.

I plan to post pictures and details of the wedding soon, so stay tuned.
