What a wild summer.

I've been absent for awhile. But, things have been pretty stressful around here.

Now - things are good. We are moving in a couple of weeks, just up the road, closer to our jobs. This gas crisis has us panicking about commuting.

We're pretty excited about being so close to campus. It will only take about five minutes to walk to work every morning. :)

It has been a summer of wildlife around here. That is what I will miss the most about this house. Here's a sampling of what we've seen in the past couple weeks.

This guy lives nearby. He's a pileated woodpecker (think woody woodpecker). They are huge! We saw one in the arboretum recently and then realized that we had one living in our yard.

We woke up one morning and this guy was resting on our porch. I love turtles.

This luna moth visited us a couple nights ago. I had never seen one before, so it was pretty exciting for me. I think they're beautiful.

We also have a resident groundhog and a praying mantis, some deer and turkeys, and your average birds.

I will try to blog more. But, it's been easier to tweet lately. :D

I, too, think Luna moths are beautiful.

Good luck with the move.
